Serco are offering bespoke packages of training aimed at supporting individuals into employment, further learning or an apprenticeship. Individuals are eligible for Skills Support for Redundancy if they have been made redundant within the last three months.  We are still hoping to increase our offer for this strand and I will keep you posted as we develop it

All SSW/SSR Courses will be delivered remotely through Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc with the exception of some construction courses which will still be delivered but adhering to the social distancing guidance.

Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) is a programme developed to upskill employees within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Swindon & Wiltshire. We provide recognised accredited qualifications and bespoke training courses to enhance your employees’ skills, increase the competitiveness of your business and boost the local economy. SSW is co-financed by the Education and Skills Funding Agency and the European Social Fund.

Serco delivers the SSW programme in partnership with Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). Swindon & Wiltshire LEP has identified the following priorities for the SSW programme to focus on:

  • Providing support for lower skilled people to progress into apprenticeships and lifelong learning
  • Improving the digital capability of the workforce
  • Providing leadership and management training

Eligability:

The following eligibility criteria apply for anyone accessing support through Skills Support for the Workforce in Swindon and Wiltshire:
 
  • The learner has to be employed by the organisation (or self-employed).
  • The learner has to be eligible to work in the UK – evidence will be required
  • The learner must be aged 16+ (no upper age restriction)
  • The training has to be delivered within the Swindon and Wiltshire LEP region and by one of the contracted SSW Training Providers
