Event details

As part of the roll-out of the SWLEP Digital Capability Strategy, we have targeted the £2.1m ESF Skills Support for the Workforce programme, run by Serco, to focus help to businesses to transform with digital technologies.

To do this, they often have to go through a process of change with their workforces. As staff learn, the local economy benefits from becoming more capable, and in turn productive and competitive.

These workshops are the first in the UK - the ESFA, the private sector and SWLEP has come together to put together a training package for intermediaries about digital skills.

Because the education and skills sector does not easily translate what they do as “digital skills” and, because there is so much to learn without even beginning to tackle the oft difficult change management process that goes with investment in digital tools, this support is being made available to all staff in the area who work directly with businesses so that they are more able to discuss businesses’ needs.

It is therefore essential that Growth Hub and other business representative agencies, business support agencies and projects, and everyone in between, gets to learn and understand ways that enable you to make more impact when assisting local businesses on the digital agenda.

Please share with your contacts in the business support field.

The workshop will be delivered by Kate Doodson, CEO of Cosmic IT.

Kate is the Joint Chief Executive of Cosmic, one of the leading social enterprises in the South West and recognised across the UK for its achievements and ongoing development. Kate is a girl geek having spent 18 years in the IT industry, many of which running a wholly female owned IT software business.
